Reports: Boston College Wide Receiver Sensation Eyeing an ACC Championship

The redshirt junior shared his goals for the 2024 season.

The Boston College Eagles football team is just days away from kicking off its highly anticipated season.

The Bill O’Brien era will officially begin on Labor Day Night with an away game against the No. 10 Florida State Seminoles at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Coming off an impressive 7-6 season in 2023 that included a win in the Wasabi Fenway Bowl, the team is eager to build on that success, especially with a new coaching staff at the helm.

So, what are the players’ expectations and goals for 2024?

Eagles wide receiver Lewis Bond shared his goals for the season.

“Personally, I have some individual goals, but my biggest aim is to compete for an ACC championship and win ten games,” Bond said. “Team goals are my priority, so while I have personal goals, I keep them private as motivation. As Coach O’Brien says, if the team wins, personal accomplishments will follow, and that’s how I approach it.”

The ten-win target has been a recurring theme this offseason among Boston College players. Defensive end Donovan Ezeiruaku expressed similar expectations earlier this month.

“I would say ten wins,” Ezeiruaku mentioned on August 7. “I think it’s very achievable, especially if we come together before—or by—September 2. We need to play complementary football. We have the talent and depth, and with some luck on staying healthy, we can really gel as a team. We’ve got an edge; this team has a competitive spirit, and we’re right on that fine line, which we love to see. That’s definitely my expectation.”
