Changes to Pregame Activities: Cougar Walk Moves to Cullen Boulevard for Better Accessibility

HOUSTON – The University of Houston Football program kicks off a new chapter this fall under Head Coach Willie Fritz, bringing exciting shifts to pregame activities, including a new location for Cougar Walk and enhanced tailgating experiences.

COUGAR WALK Starting in 2024, Cougar Walk will take place on Cullen Boulevard, allowing fans to cheer and high-five their favorite Houston Football players, coaches, and staff as they make their way down the main street of the University. Cougar Walk will begin 2 hours and 30 minutes before kickoff.

The Spirit of Houston Marching Band will perform their first pregame show during Cougar Walk, followed by a new performance near Cougar Alley 90 minutes before the game starts.

REVELXP AND STUDENT TAILGATES This season, RevelXP will elevate game day for Coogs fans with full-service tailgating. They take care of all the details, including setup and cleanup, so fans can enjoy time with friends in premium locations near TDECU Stadium. For more information, click here.

The student tailgates will also relocate to Cullen Boulevard this year, creating a more centralized and accessible space for attendees.

Current University of Houston students are encouraged to join the Houston Athletics Student Tailgate, hosted in collaboration with the Student Government Association and Student Affairs, located near the “Coogs’ House” sign on Cullen Boulevard. This tailgate will feature a DJ, food, and video games, including the new EA SPORTS College Football 25. Students must present their UH ID and game ticket for free entry.

Cullen Boulevard will close seven hours before game time, with tailgating starting four hours prior to kickoff.

UP NEXT The Cougars will kick off the 2024 season against UNLV at 6 p.m. on Saturday at TDECU Stadium, marking the first of six home games.
