REPORTS: Former Bluejays Heroes Make Splash In NBA Summer League Debuts
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (WOWT) – Former Creighton guards Baylor Scheierman and Trey Alexander made their professional basketball debuts with their NBA teams this weekend, transitioning from Omaha to Las Vegas.
On Saturday, Scheierman started in Boston’s opening Summer League game against the Miami Heat. The Aurora, Nebraska native struggled initially, going 0-for-3 in the first quarter, but he scored his first points as a Celtic with a mid-range jumper early in the second quarter. In the third quarter, the first-round draft pick hit his first three-pointer, narrowing Boston’s deficit to three points at 61-59. Over 24 minutes of play, Scheierman recorded 13 points, five rebounds, six assists, and one steal, though Boston ultimately lost to Miami, 119-114.

Late Friday night, Trey Alexander played with the Denver Nuggets. Coming off the bench, he scored 12 points, grabbed four rebounds, provided three assists, and made one steal in the Nuggets’ 88-78 defeat to the Clippers.

The Nuggets will be back on the court in Las Vegas on Sunday, facing Toronto at 8:30 p.m. CT, airing on NBA TV and ESPN+.
The Celtics will also return to play on Monday, taking on the Lakers in the late game at 9:30 p.m. on NBA TV and ESPN+.
