Reports: Former Griz Football Player Trades His Football From a Mind-Blowing Decision

Former Griz wide receiver Ryan Bagley’s painting adorns an outside wall of Press Box Sports Bar in Missoula

MISSOULA — A mural honoring the legends of Missoula and showcasing the town’s triumphant spirit has been unveiled in Missoula.

The artwork, created by former Griz wide receiver Ryan Bagley, is displayed on the exterior wall of Press Box Sports Bar.

“He mentioned that as long as it’s Griz-related, we have the freedom to do anything, anytime, anywhere,” Bagley shared regarding the mural’s plans.

Originally from the small town of Dutton, he now has the opportunity to celebrate Missoula’s legends.

“Every artist would love to have this chance to create two billboards right across from the university,” Bagley stated to MTN.

Homecoming will offer many people their first glimpse of the mural.

The wall features Griz legend Dave Dickenson, Hall of Famer Shannon Kate, and current football star Junior Bergen, with fans cheering from bleachers being added to the artwork.

Although art has always been a significant part of Bagley’s life, this is his inaugural mural. He has never worked on such a large scale before and had to adapt to using spray paint instead of traditional paint. He mentioned that extending the mural to the second story of the Press Box could be an option.

Bagley paints with genuine passion, stating, “Whether I was earning 5or 5 million, I would pour my heart and soul into this.”

Even with his achievements on the field, he won’t depict himself on the wall. Instead, Monte will don his old jersey to symbolize Bagley’s spirit.

He hopes this can serve as his legacy, saying, “I hope this lasts longer than I do.”
