Reports: Here’s an Update Following Scary Injury to SDSU Alum Sensation Strong Jr

Whenever a player has to leave the field in an ambulance during practice, drills, or a game, it’s a frightening situation. That happened on Wednesday afternoon when Pierre Strong Jr., a former South Dakota State Jackrabbit running back now with the Cleveland Browns, was taken off the field in an ambulance.

Pierre Strong Jr. was taken away in an ambulance after sustaining an injury. He seemed to have hurt his upper body but was able to walk off the field with the training staff before getting into the ambulance.

Fortunately, we received an update later in the afternoon from the same source. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski provided a brief report on Strong’s condition following Wednesday’s practice.

Stefanski indicated that Strong had a rib injury but did not provide details about the injury’s severity or when he might return to play.

This is encouraging news despite the lack of specific information. It appears that Strong will be okay, with more updates expected soon.

Strong played at South Dakota State University from 2018 to 2021, racking up over 4,500 rushing yards and 40 touchdowns. He was selected in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Patriots and was traded to the Browns on August 27, 2023. Since joining Cleveland, Strong has participated in every game, finishing last season with 291 rushing yards and one touchdown.
