REPORTS: High-Star Re-Signs With Miami Heat On 2-Year, A Mouth-watering $8 Million-Plus Deal
Kevin Love is returning to Miami!
The Miami Heat have reached a two-year agreement with veteran player Kevin Love, marking the 35-year-old’s return to the 305 area code and to the NBA, as reported by The Athletic’s and Stadium’s Shams Charania on Sunday.
The contract is valued at over $8 million and does not include any options.
Over the weekend, Love chose not to exercise his $4 million player option. However, both Love and the Miami team had intentions of securing a new deal, and they have successfully accomplished this goal.
During the 2023-24 season, Love achieved an average of 8.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game for the Heat in 55 games, with a three-point shooting percentage of 34.4%. Love will celebrate his 36th birthday in September.
Throughout his 16 NBA seasons, Love has earned a championship ring in 2016, received All-Star honors five times, and was selected for the All-NBA Second Team twice. He has played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Heat, with whom he contributed to reaching the NBA Finals in 2023.
