Reports: How are things with the young star from Houston, a promising 6-6 wing out of Houston

Shelton Henderson, a talented 6-6 wing from Houston, is in an enviable position where he can choose from almost any school he desires.

Henderson, a 5-star wing attending Bellaire High, has garnered significant interest from Louisville, Kansas, LSU, Texas, Houston, and Duke. The latter three are likely the frontrunners.

Houston, his hometown school, has seen a resurgence under Kelvin Sampson, reminiscent of Guy Lewis’s successful tenure from 1956-1986, particularly during the late 1960s and early 1980s.

Texas has also been actively recruiting Henderson, with Rodney Terry building a strong relationship with him over time.

Regarding Duke, Henderson is reportedly close with Jai Lucas, who has Houston roots through his father, John Lucas, a Durham native who settled in Houston after his playing career and has since made significant contributions there.

Henderson aims to make his decision by the early signing period. While predictions lean towards Duke, ultimately, the choice is his to make.
