Reports: Huge News From 5-Star MSU Basketball Target After Visit

The Michigan State Spartans just hosted five-star forward Jalen Haralson of La Lumiere. Haralson just announced some news that could have big implications…

The Michigan State Spartans welcomed elite 2025 five-star forward Jalen Haralson over the weekend, marking an important visit for head coach Tom Izzo as he seeks his first recruit from the 2025 class. Haralson is among several top prospects that Izzo is targeting.

Haralson attended the Spartans’ football game against Prairie View A&M and experienced the excitement of “Grind Week,” where numerous basketball alumni were present. This environment may have served as an effective recruiting pitch, showcasing Michigan State’s national championship legacy.

The visit seemingly had a positive impact, as it was announced on Sunday that Haralson had canceled planned official visits to Kansas and Missouri. He also rescheduled his visit to Purdue to take place next weekend.

According to Eric Bossi of 247Sports, Haralson mentioned that he’s nearing a decision, indicating he will enter “decision mode” following the Purdue visit.

“I feel like whenever I have that gut feeling, I’ll know,” Haralson told Bossi. “I’m getting close to that decision, and I think I will make it really soon. I don’t know the exact date yet, but it will likely be soon after I get back from the Purdue visit.”

This update could suggest that his visit to Michigan State left a strong impression. Haralson is currently ranked as the No. 14 player in his class by 247Sports and stands as the No. 2 small forward as well as the top player from Indiana.

His coach at the respected La Lumiere School, Pat Holmes, recently shared insights on what sets Haralson apart. His impact goes beyond his versatility as a top perimeter player.

“He’s very talented and knows how to play,” Holmes said. “He makes others better—he doesn’t need to dominate the ball to make a difference in winning. He moves the ball and makes the right play; he’s a coach’s dream. As a teammate, others enjoy playing with him because they know he strives to make the right play and elevate everyone around him, which speaks volumes about his character.”
