Julia Scott, a forward from Albertus Magnus High School in Bardonia, N.Y., is among the top prospects in the Class of 2026. Standing at 6 feet 2 inches, she has drawn interest from many premier programs across the country, including the University of Louisville, which offered her over a year ago.

Scott visited the campus last summer and expressed her positive impression, saying, “I really liked what I saw on the visit, and I still talk to them regularly.” She acknowledged that Coach Jeff Walz is very successful and noted, “Louisville has a strong program and wins a lot of games.”

Last season, Scott earned honorable mention for the Sophomore All-American team by MaxPreps. She plans to keep her options open as she considers her choices, uncertain about when she will make a decision. “I like a lot of schools and can see myself at some,” she mentioned, “but I still have time.”

This past spring and summer, Scott played for the Empire State Blue Flames 2025 team, competing against older players. “It’s been a lot of fun. I’m playing up and just enjoying my final season with my team while trying to win,” she said, adding that playing up has significantly contributed to her growth.

Scott has made notable improvements in her game, particularly in her footwork, which she attributes in part to her background in dance. According to her, college coaches have praised her versatility, saying it’s one of her key strengths.

Recently, Scott scored 37 points in a semifinal victory, leading Albertus Magnus to a 16-2 record and their first Class AA state title since the 1990s. Analyst Brandon Clay from 247Sports commented on her well-rounded skills, stating that Scott is a solid prospect, capable of producing on the court and stretching the floor with her shooting ability.
