USC Trojans quarterback Miller Moss has been playing exceptionally well over the first four games of the season, helping the Men of Troy achieve a 3-1 record and earning an 11th place ranking in the AP Top 25.
So far, Moss has amassed 1,198 passing yards, thrown for 8 touchdowns, and has 2 interceptions, including 1 rushing touchdown.
In terms of statistics, Moss ranks 27th in passing yards and 31st in touchdown passes.
Mel Kiper Jr., a prominent NFL Draft analyst, recently released his updated quarterback rankings for the 2025 NFL Draft, placing Miller Moss at 9th. This ranking suggests he might be drafted later or possibly even go undrafted.
Is Mel Kiper Jr. underestimating Miller Moss?

Kiper Jr.’s current Top 10 quarterbacks are:
- Shedeur Sanders, Colorado
- Carson Beck, Georgia
- Quinn Ewers, Texas
- Cam Ward, Miami
- Jalen Milroe, Alabama
- Drew Allar, Penn State
- Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss
- Garrett Nussmeier, LSU
- Miller Moss, USC
- Will Howard, Ohio State
While acknowledging the achievements of the other quarterbacks on the list, it’s worth noting that Moss has played one fewer game and faced tougher competition.
Moss has secured significant victories against LSU and Wisconsin, with the game against LSU being played on neutral ground for the season opener. His sole loss was to the 10th-ranked Michigan Wolverines at their home field, during which he threw for 282 yards and 3 touchdowns, all while experiencing pressure on 27 dropbacks.
There’s still plenty of football left to play before we need to discuss the 2025 NFL Draft, and it’s uncertain whether Moss will declare. However, based on his current performance, it’s difficult to envision eight quarterbacks outperforming him.
Moss is building a reputation for himself and is likely to improve further while gaining more recognition as the season goes on, especially if the USC Trojans keep racking up wins.
