ST. LOUIS — The Pioneer Football League revealed its preseason all-conference team today, with two members from the University of Dayton Flyers earning spots. The honorees are center Dylan DeMaison and linebacker Aiden McKinley.
DeMaison, a center from Cincinnati La Salle High School, is a two-time First Team All-PFL selection. The co-captain has played in all 30 games during his time with the Flyers. He received the Stan Kurdziel Award in 2023, which honors the team’s top lineman. As a senior in 2024, he was also recognized as Academic All-District and Academic All-PFL last year.
McKinley, a redshirt junior from Louisville, Ky., attended Trinity High School and started all 11 games last season. He ranked second on the team with 87 total tackles, including 31 solo tackles. His 12.5 tackles for loss led the team and were second in the PFL, while his three forced fumbles were also a league-high. McKinley was named UD’s Most Improved Defensive Player and received Honorable Mention All-PFL last season.
In Coach Trevor Andrews’s first season, Dayton finished with a 4-7 record, wrapping up the year with victories over Marist (35-6) and Davidson (45-14). The Flyers are returning 17 starters, with nine on offense and eight on defense.
The team will report for preseason camp on Friday and will kick off the season at home on August 31 against St. Francis, with all home games set to start at 12 PM ET.
