Reports: UConn women’s basketball star Paige Bueckers Receives Massive Throwback Gift

UConn women’s basketball standout Paige Bueckers received a nostalgic gift upon her return to campus this week.

The gift was designed to look like a ‘first day’ arts and crafts project from when she was five years old.

The UConn women’s basketball team posted a photo of Bueckers with the gift on its Instagram, captioning it “Paige knew who she was from a very early age.” The post featured a recent photo of Bueckers alongside a drawing of her in the same pose.

UConn also posted it on X, and Bueckers replied, “Last first day of school ever.”

As reported by SI.com, Bueckers is ranked as the second top female athlete on On3’s NIL 100 List, trailing LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne. She is starting her senior year with the Huskies and is expected to be the first overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

While getting comfortable in their dorm room at UConn, Bueckers and her teammates are experiencing a common college rite of passage — setting up their furniture.

On Wednesday night, teammate Azzi Fudd posted a photo on her Instagram story showing Bueckers and fellow teammate Jana El Alfy putting together a shelving unit, with Bueckers notably using a drill. Fudd added the caption, “CAUTION … Women hard at work.”
