Reports: UNC Basketball Recruiters in Heated Battle for Southpaw Sensation As Huge Deal Looms

The UNC basketball recruiting team is one of four bluebloods remaining in contention for 2025 stock-riser Acaden Lewis.

Currently, Sidwell Friends School (D.C.) standout Acaden Lewis, ranked No. 36 overall and No. 6 among combo guards in the 247Sports 2025 Composite, has confirmed just one official visit before his expected decision in early November. He is set to visit Chapel Hill during the first weekend of October to tour the UNC basketball program again.

Lewis, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound skilled lefty, took an unofficial visit to the Tar Heels in late June after receiving a range of prestigious offers within a two-week period. He intends to announce more official visits soon as he approaches the final stage of his recruitment.

On Saturday afternoon, he narrowed his list of around 30 schools down to a final four composed entirely of blueblood programs: UNC, Duke, Kentucky, and UConn. He visited all four unofficially over the summer.

There are currently no predictions from the 247Sports Crystal Ball regarding Acaden Lewis. The same is true for Rivals FutureCast and On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis and his team have not yet secured a commitment from any of the 18 players they have offered.

However, it’s worth noting that only three of the targeted prospects have made their decisions, meaning the Tar Heels have not faced significant losses in this recruiting cycle.
