Sad News!!!Former Oregon State Beavers’ Star Sustained a Season-Ending Injury With Elite

Kyle Peko’s season appears to be over.

The Detroit Lions nose tackle and former Oregon State Beavers standout sustained what was initially assessed as a pectoral injury while tackling Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott during the first quarter on Sunday.

An MRI conducted on Monday revealed that Peko has a torn pectoral muscle, as reported by Tom Pelissero of NFL.com. He is likely facing season-ending surgery.

Peko, who served as Detroit’s backup nose tackle during the first month of the season, participated in 86 defensive snaps and nine special teams snaps over five games, recording two tackles and two quarterback hits. He averaged 15 snaps per game and was brought in to mentor the younger defensive linemen.

This injury marks the second setback for the Lions’ defensive line; standout defensive end Aidan Hutchinson also suffered a broken left leg and is expected to be out for the rest of the season.
