“Temple’s Star Shines Bright: Reese’s Senior Bowl Honors Propel Player Toward Legendary Status!”

This week, Temple (1-5, 0-2 AAC) placekicker Maddux Trujillo received recognition from the Reese’s Senior Bowl, earning a spot on their midseason All-American list.

Hailing from Flowery Branch, Georgia, Trujillo is one of just two players from Group of Five conferences included on the list, joining Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, and he’s the sole representative from the American Athletic Conference.

This season, Trujillo has not only achieved 15 touchbacks on 25 kickoffs but has also made waves with some impressive long-range field goals. He set the record for the longest field goal in AAC history against Utah State, kicking a remarkable 64-yarder—which is now tied for the eighth-longest in NCAA history. Last weekend, he added another notable 60-yarder against UConn, making him just the third player in NCAA history to convert two field goals of 60 yards or more in a single season. So far in 2024, Trujillo has successfully completed seven of his nine field goal attempts.

Temple will face off against Tulsa on Saturday, October 19, at Lincoln Financial Field.
