Top News: Exciting New Prospect on NC State Basketball Recruiting Horizon, One Promising 2025 Center

NC State basketball is set to have eyes on one promising 2025 center this week.

Before Tuesday night, there were no indications that NC State basketball was interested in Cade Bennerman, a 6-foot-11, 195-pound center from Father Ryan High School (Tenn.) who is a three-star senior with a reported wingspan of 7 feet 5 inches.

However, it seems that at least one member of Kevin Keatts’ staff intends to personally scout the long-limbed Bennerman once the open recruiting period starts on Wednesday. According to Travis Graf of MADE Hoops, NC State is “expected to be there this week” to evaluate the impressively athletic big man.

Bennerman is currently ranked No. 190 overall and No. 33 among centers in the 247Sports 2025 Composite. Given these rankings, it’s somewhat unexpected that he holds the No. 1 spot among players from Tennessee in this cycle.

As Jamie Shaw from On3 noted in his assessment after observing the Nashville native during grassroots events in early July, Bennerman has a significant upside:

“While he still has a long way to go before reaching his full potential, there aren’t many 6-foot-11 players who move as smoothly as Bennerman. He played to his strengths, finishing well around the basket and effectively blocking shots. There’s a clear path for his ongoing development.”

According to 247Sports, he has received offers from Northwestern, South Florida, Cal, Penn State, and Tennessee State.

Graf mentioned that Bennerman has arranged official visits in September to South Florida, Michigan, and Northwestern.
