Top News: Potential Top NC State Football Recruiting Prize Locks In Date

NC State football may receive the 2025 recruiting boost it sorely needs come early November.

Monroe High School (N.C.) safety Jordan Young has narrowed his choices down to four schools. His list includes NC State, which hosted him for an official visit in June and an unofficial visit in July, as well as two other ACC programs, Clemson and Florida State, along with Big Ten school Michigan.

As of this week, the 6-foot, 180-pound four-star recruit, ranked No. 101 overall and No. 4 in North Carolina on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, has set a date for the conclusion of his recruitment. Jordan Young will announce his decision on November 2, as he shared with On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

NC State football currently has an advantage over Clemson according to the 247Sports Crystal Ball experts, with all four predictions made since July favoring the Wolfpack.

Andrew Ivins, the director of scouting at 247Sports, recently described Jordan Young as a dynamic playmaker who has excelled offensively but is best suited to play safety at the next level due to his awareness, range, and ball skills. He views Young as a potential impact player in the Power Four, with the capability of being a multi-year starter. Young’s versatile skill set suggests he could thrive as a split safety in various roles.

If Young decides to commit to NC State football head coach Dave Doeren and his staff in five weeks, he would become the highest-ranked recruit in the 2025 class for the Wolfpack.

Currently, Doeren’s class includes 17 commitments, with only two being four-star recruits. The recruiting class is ranked No. 55 overall in the nation and No. 14 among ACC programs, according to 247Sports.
