Top Story: USD’s Top Sensation Earns Special Honors After An Electric K.O Return, First South Dakota Touchdown

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Keyondray Jones-Logan earned the first Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) Special Teams Player of the Week accolade for the 2024 season, as announced by the league office this morning, following an electrifying kickoff return that marked South Dakota’s first touchdown of the season.

Although Jones-Logan (So., Orlando, Fla.) had just one opportunity for a kickoff return that night, he showcased his speed right from the start of the game. This impressive return ignited a scoring spree for the Coyotes, who went on to score 45 unanswered points, leaving Northern State scoreless for the remainder of the match.

During the first week of the college football season, his kickoff return stands out as the longest so far, making him the only return specialist to score a touchdown on a return.

He is the first Coyote to receive a MVFC weekly award in 2024 and the first player to earn any MVFC weekly recognition since Isaac Erbes was named Offensive Lineman of the Week on November 21, 2023.
