According to reports, Newcastle United have initiated communication with the agents of AC Milan’s defender Fikayo Tomori to explore the prospect of a transfer to St James’ Park in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Newcastle United is rumored to have targeted Fikayo Tomori as a key transfer objective for the current season.
As per Football Insider, the Magpies have been in contact with Tomori’s representatives to negotiate the terms necessary to secure the Englishman’s move to the club this summer.
The article suggests that Eddie Howe, the head coach of Newcastle, is keen on recruiting a central defender before the 2024-25 season commences.
Tomori had been part of Chelsea from 2016 to 2021 before he transferred to AC Milan, where he has featured in 142 matches across various competitions.
During the 2023-24 season, Tomori remained a pivotal figure for Milan, participating in 35 matches in total and scoring four goals along the way.
Milan ‘make contact with Wieffer agents’
On the other hand, as reported by renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan have reached out to Mats Wieffer’s agents to explore the possibility of him joining San Siro this summer.
The 24-year-old displayed impressive form for Feyenoord in the 2023-24 season, netting six goals and providing four assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.
Wieffer’s future is currently generating significant buzz, with Milan reportedly singling him out as their primary midfield target for the upcoming transfer window.
According to Romano, Milan has initiated discussions with Wieffer’s representatives, and the Dutch international is enthusiastic about the prospect of transferring to the prestigious Italian club this summer.
In his time at Feyenoord, the midfielder has accumulated a tally of nine goals and 11 assists from 79 matches.
Southampton are reportedly planning a move to sign striker Wood.
On another front, reports suggest that Southampton might revive their interest in Swansea City defender Nathan Wood in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old has been linked with several clubs in recent times and reportedly received two offers from Southampton last year.
As per BBC Sport, The Saints, who have secured promotion back to the Premier League, are considering making a fresh attempt to sign him in the current transfer window.
Addressing the rumors, Swansea head coach Luke Williams remarked, “Young players getting significant game time in the Championship at a respectable level are bound to attract interest from potential suitors.
I can’t provide additional details at this moment, but it’s evident that certain players have turned heads.”
Wood featured in 26 Championship matches for Swansea last season and is nearing the final year of his contract with the Welsh side.
