UFL 2024: DANIEL ISOM’S PICK-SIX LEADS TOP PLAYS FROM CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2024 UFL Championship Game lineup is confirmed.

Birmingham Stallions secured their spot in the title game by defeating Michigan Panthers for the second time in a row after winning their regular-season finale. Matt Corral, the backup QB for the Stallions, shone brightly in place of the UFL MVP Adrian Martinez. He completed 9 out of 11 passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns, igniting a remarkable comeback.

This weekend, the Stallions are poised to compete against the only team that managed to beat them in the regular season — San Antonio Brahmas led by Wade Phillips. The Brahmas triumphed over the St. Louis Battlehawks with two touchdowns by QB Chase Garbers, a rushing touchdown by Anthony McFarland, and solid defense from the UFL’s top-ranked defense.

As the Battlehawks’ offense struggled to produce, the defense rose to the occasion, providing a much-needed boost for the crowd in the third quarter. After a 60-yard touchdown drive, linebacker Pita Taumoepenu extended their lead with a 10-yard scoop-and-score play.

Garbers made a precise pocket pass to Smith, creating a perfect connection as Smith sprinted untouched towards the end zone for a 63-yard touchdown. FOX Sports commentator Curt Menefee praised the play enthusiastically in the broadcast booth.

In a single play covering 50 yards, Martinez, the top rusher in the UFL, displayed his strong arm with a powerful throw to the 6-foot-5 tight end Thomas.

2. Running back Anthony McFarland excels for the Brahmas.

San Antonio’s offense was firing on all fronts in the latter half. McFarland recorded 115 rushing yards on 11 attempts in the victory against St. Louis, highlighted by a remarkable 69-yard touchdown run.

1. Cornerback Daniel Isom shines for the Stallions.

Isom made a game-changing play that revived the Stallions’ championship aspirations. Despite being behind 18-3 against Michigan in the first half, Birmingham fought back, and it was Isom’s interception returned for a touchdown covering 48 yards that brought the team back into contention. This touchdown tied the game at 18 apiece in the third quarter. Isom read the short pass route, intercepted quarterback Danny Etling’s throw, showcased some nimble footwork, and elegantly dove into the end zone.
