UNC basketball is in a Hot three-way battle for athletic 6-foot-5, 180-pounder, sharpshooter
UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis, along with two of his assistants, visited Greenfield-Central School in Indiana on Monday to catch up with senior Braylon Mullins as he approaches the end of his recruitment process. Their trip to Indiana clearly indicates that the Tar Heels believe they are still in the running for the five-star guard.
However, on Thursday morning, UConn head coach Dan Hurley surpassed Davis by arriving with three of his assistants, reinforcing the Huskies’ strong presence as the recruitment process comes to a close.

Recent discussions suggest that UConn is the frontrunner to recruit the 6-foot-5, 180-pound player, whose stock has risen sharply due to his impressive combination of athleticism, shooting ability, and overall basketball skills. Currently ranked No. 23 in the 247Sports 2025 Composite, Mullins has narrowed his choices to UConn, UNC, and his home-state favorite, Indiana.
He visited UConn in August before touring UNC and Indiana in September. The highly sought-after prospect also canceled several visits to other schools, including prestigious programs like Duke and Kentucky, while reducing his options from ten to three.
Regarding his timeline for making a decision, it appears that Braylon Mullins will conclude his recruitment in just a few weeks, with an announcement expected by the end of October.
“I have fall break next weekend,” Mullins told 247Sports’ Dushawn London earlier this week. “After that, I’ll take some time to think it over.”
