Unforgettable For 15 Weber State Coaches: A Groundbreaking Ceremony, Three Vehicle Giveaways And More
In 2024, the Young Automotive Group has been celebrating its centennial anniversary. They’ve hosted three grand openings, given away three vehicles, participated in four parades, held a groundbreaking ceremony, and organized various charitable events, all while sharing their journey from a small service shop to over 30 franchises across three states.
Each event highlights their history, emphasizing the vital partnerships that have contributed to their success. On July 26, they honored one of these partners with a special vehicle giveaway in collaboration with Weber State University.
“Events like this are always highly anticipated, especially when they involve partners like Weber State,” said Brad Taylor, general manager of Young Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Morgan. “Many who work at Young Automotive Group are former Wildcats, and their support for the teams is significant. We’re extremely grateful for the chance to recognize those who have played such a crucial role in our company and in the northern Utah community.”
During a gathering at their dealership, the Young Automotive Group provided 15 Wildcat coaches with Jeep Gladiators for a year, each adorned with a unique wrap representing the university, Young Automotive Group, and GoldenWest Credit Union. The honorees included several conference and national champions, such as:
- Tight ends coach David Fiefia
- Offensive line coach Brent Myers
- Co-defensive coordinators Joe Dale and Grant Duff
- Volleyball coach Jeremiah Larsen
- Softball coach Kristin Delahoussaye
- Women’s basketball coach Jenteal Jackson
- Women’s soccer coach Craig Sanders
- Assistant women’s soccer coach Mekell Moss
- Director of men’s golf Scott Erling
- Women’s golf coach Sara Hogue
- Associate athletic director Kayla Morgan
- Women’s track and field assistant coach Lindsey Anderson
- Director of sports medicine Joel Bass
- Spirit squad director Summer Willis
“Building community connections is crucial for us as coaches,” Delahoussaye noted. “While it can be challenging, having support from organizations like the Young Automotive Group makes a huge difference for us and our athletes.”
The partnership between Young Automotive Group and Weber State has been long-standing, with the company sponsoring numerous Wildcat games and regularly attending the university’s career fairs, as well as inviting them to charity events run by their non-profit, Young Caring for Our Young Foundation.
“We love collaborating with the Young Automotive Group as they genuinely advocate for the community,” stated Tim Crompton, Weber State’s athletics director. “We seek partners who align with our goals, and the Young family epitomizes that. We look forward to our future together.”
Crompton also mentioned plans for exclusive initiatives with Young Caring for Our Young throughout the year, including events for coaches and a pantry pack assembly to provide meal kits for students facing food insecurity.
Although they have more celebrations planned for 2024, this particular event stands out for many members of the organization.
