Indiana Football: Top Gifted Star Expected to Return Against Prominent Showdown

The Hoosiers’ linebacker left the game against Northwestern with an injury.

Indiana football anticipates that senior linebacker Jailin Walker will be ready to play against Nebraska on Saturday, according to head coach Curt Cignetti during his Monday press conference.

Walker exited the game against Northwestern due to injury, but Cignetti is optimistic he’ll return to full strength for the matchup with the Huskers.

“Yeah, J-Walk is someone you can never count out, and I expect him to be at full speed on Saturday,” Cignetti stated. “We’re building depth with Isaiah Jones and freshman Hardy, but there are still some positions where we’re a bit thin. Overall, I feel good about that group.”

Cignetti’s confidence in the rotational players at the Hoosiers’ second level is encouraging for both the upcoming game and the future.

This season, Walker has accumulated 34 total tackles, 16 solo tackles, and half a sack for Bryant Haines’ defense. He ranks second on the team in overall tackles, trailing only Aiden Fisher, and plays a vital role in a defense preparing to take on Dylan Raiola and the Nebraska rushing attack.
