With a current record of 3-3, the Cowboys sit third in the NFC East and have yet to secure a victory in the stadium that Jones built.
In the wake of the loss, much of the criticism has shifted away from head coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Dak Prescott, landing squarely on Jones himself. As both owner and general manager, he holds responsibility for financial decisions regarding player acquisitions.
Jones, however, has had a more uplifting start to his birthday week. On Monday, he participated as usual in a call to the Cowboys radio talk show, 105.3 The Fan, where he didn’t shy away from contentious questions—especially concerning the lack of player moves during the offseason.
“Do you really think you can sit here and criticize me for everything I’ve done wrong without addressing the positives?” Jones responded aggressively to the hosts, even hinting at repercussions for them.
Later that day, he reiterated his authority, mentioning that he pays the show’s hosts.
Fans had hoped Jones would pursue wide receiver Davante Adams, who sought a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders. However, Jones stated that funds were unavailable, and Adams has since joined the New York Jets.
As the week progresses, it seems Jones remains steadfast in the lack of imminent changes for the Cowboys, with the trade deadline approaching on November 5.

Currently, the Cowboys average only 21.0 points per game, placing them 19th in the league. Additionally, the team is giving up an average of 356.5 yards per game, making it the ninth worst in the league.
With a bye week approaching, the Cowboys will return to face several NFC rivals on the rise, including the San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, and Houston Texans.
