Browns Could Beat Steelers to Steal QB Prospect
The Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers may soon be vying for the same top quarterback prospect.
The Steelers have yet to finalize their quarterback plans, still waiting on a decision from free-agent Aaron Rodgers. Although they signed Mason Rudolph this offseason, it’s expected that the Steelers will still pursue another quarterback before the season begins.
Outside of Rodgers, the free-agent quarterback pool is quite thin at this stage of the offseason, meaning the Steelers might have to look to the draft to address their needs.
While the quarterback draft class is generally considered weak, some top prospects could still prove to be valuable. One of those prospects is Jalen Milroe, whose draft stock has fluctuated, with some sources suggesting he could go as high as the first round, potentially available for the Steelers with their 21st pick. Others have him projected to be available later, around the third round when the Steelers make their 83rd pick.

However, Milroe has recently visited two other teams that might be interested in drafting him: division rival Cleveland Browns and the New Orleans Saints. FOX Sports insider Jordan Schultz reported that both teams have expressed strong interest in the quarterback.
Milroe had already met with the New York Jets and the Steelers before his pro day on March 19, expanding the pool of teams interested in him.
With time running out and limited options available, the Steelers face an urgent decision on how to address their quarterback situation. Meanwhile, they’ve already made strides to improve their wide receiver corps, which had been a point of concern in past seasons.
