Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart provides an update to the Dawgs who suffered an injury during their inter-squad scrimmage.

Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart shared an injury update following the team’s spring scrimmage, “G-Day,” which wrapped up the Dawgs’ spring practice schedule.

Held in front of a packed crowd, G-Day gave fans their first look at the 2025 Georgia squad in a live, full-contact setting. The Red team came out on top with a 34-17 win over the Black team.

With the physical nature of the scrimmage, it was expected that a few players would pick up minor injuries. Coach Smart addressed those concerns afterward, offering some clarity.

“Not sure if it’s a high ankle or just a lower leg,” Smart said about wide receiver Cole Spear. “He’s dealing with an ankle issue, Q [Quintavious Johnson] has one too, and Noah Thomas has an AC sprain. But I don’t believe any of them are serious.”

With spring ball now complete, the injured Bulldogs will have ample time to recover before the start of the 2025 season. Georgia opens its campaign at home on August 30 against Marshall and will look to extend its impressive home winning streak, which currently stands at over 30 games.
