Auburn Tigers Host Elon Transfer Offensive Lineman
The Auburn Tigers have become the first program to host offensive lineman Carlos Moore, who is transferring from Elon. According to Auburn Rivals, Moore arrived on Wednesday night and departed on Friday. He shared his excitement about the opportunity to explore the facilities of a major FBS program.
“I really enjoyed it, I loved the visit,” Moore said. “It was great to see a completely different perspective, especially with the facilities being so much more advanced than what I experienced at the FCS level. It was an amazing chance to learn more about the program and what they offer.”
During his visit, Moore met with Auburn’s offensive line coach, Jake Thornton, who took him through team walkthroughs and reviewed film together.
“I really like Coach Thornton,” Moore said. “He’s a younger coach, so he connects well with us. He emphasizes that he’s not here to tear us down, but to build us up and help us become the best players we can be as long as we’re committed to putting in the effort.”
Moore has spent the past three seasons at Elon University. After mostly watching from the sidelines in his first two years, he stepped into a starting role as a redshirt sophomore, playing in 11 games and starting 10. He saw time at both left and right tackle.
Auburn is the first school to visit Moore since he entered the transfer portal last week. The Tigers are in need of both talent and depth on the offensive line, and Moore could fill that void. He has no other visits planned and could make his decision within the next two weeks.
If Moore chooses Auburn, he would become the first offensive addition for the Tigers during this spring transfer window. Two offensive tackles transferred to Auburn in December.
Head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff have primarily focused on strengthening the defense but have not overlooked the need to improve protection for the quarterback. Moore could be the key to solidifying that area.
