Colorado football added the son of Domata Peko.
Colorado football saw four Buffaloes selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. Now, Deion Sanders and his team have signed the son of a former NFL veteran who played for 15 years, and whose father is also part of the coaching staff.
Domata Peko Jr. from Ventura College is heading to Boulder, as the defender announced on X Monday. His father, Domata Peko, recently joined the CU coaching staff as the defensive line coach.
Before the spring game, the younger Peko visited the campus, accompanied by his brother Joseph, a 2026 defensive line prospect who is also being recruited by North Carolina and had a visit there as well.
Peko Jr., who previously played for College of the Canyons in Valencia as an edge rusher, is now under the guidance of Steve Mooshagian, the former Cincinnati Bengals wide receivers coach who has nearly two decades of experience at Ventura College.

Peko Jr. lists Corey Phillips, the director of player personnel, as one of his main recruiters. Additionally, George Helow, the coach for defensive ends and outside linebackers, was instrumental in securing the JUCO prospect.
The son of a former defender for the Bengals, Denver Broncos, and Arizona Cardinals brings impressive stature to CU, standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 240 pounds, enhancing the Buffs’ defense.
During his time at College of the Canyons, he recorded nine solo tackles over seven games and tallied two sacks.
Prior to junior college, Peko Jr. was a standout at Calabasas High, which has produced notable NFL players like Darnay Holmes, Johnny Wilson, and Jermaine Burton.
He played multiple positions for the Coyotes, catching 24 passes for 388 yards and scoring four touchdowns as a hybrid tight end/wide receiver, according to MaxPreps.
A December graduate from Ventura College, he has a 3.4 GPA. His father also had a stint as an assistant coach for the Dallas Cowboys in 2024.
