INJURY UPDATE: Gophers forward Sidelined with a Dislocated Shoulder and his Status is Week-to-week.

Frank Mitchell, the new Gophers forward, suffered a dislocated right shoulder during the exhibition game against Hamline on October 29. However, it seems that the former Canisius transfer will not be out for an extended period.

Head coach Ben Johnson said on Tuesday that he expects him to be evaluated on a weekly basis. Currently, he is determining the amount of strength he can regain in his shoulder. We will find out his whereabouts by the following week.

Mitchell, who was expected to start, will miss the season opener against Oral Roberts at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Williams Arena.

Parker Fox and Kadyn Betts are expected to step in for Michell, whose 6-foot-8, 260-pound absence could benefit the team against smaller nonconference opponents, according to Johnson.

The Gophers received positive injury updates this week. It is anticipated that Guard Femi Odukale, who transferred from New Mexico State, will participate in the game against Oral Roberts. He was absent from the two exhibition games due to a problem with his hip.

Guard Lu’Cye Patterson, who was absent due to a shoulder injury in the first exhibition game against Bemidji State on Oct. 19, returned to play in the game against Hamline.
