ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) Update for Nebraska and the Big Ten After Week 10
Week 10 in the Big Ten featured one of the season’s biggest matchups, as the No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the No. 3 Penn State Nittany Lions 20-13, extending their dominance over Penn State to eight consecutive seasons.
After Week 10, ESPN’s FPI rankings were updated, showing movement for 16 out of the Big Ten’s 18 teams.
The biggest rise in the FPI rankings came from the Iowa Hawkeyes, who jumped six spots following a commanding victory over the Wisconsin Badgers. The Minnesota Golden Gophers also made a significant move, climbing four spots after their fourth consecutive win against the Illinois Fighting Illini. Similarly, the UCLA Bruins moved up four spots following their win over Nebraska.
On the other hand, the biggest drops included the Nebraska Cornhuskers, who fell after their 27-20 loss to UCLA, as well as the Michigan Wolverines, who plummeted seven spots after a 38-17 blowout loss to top-ranked Oregon.
