FSU Football Adds New Staff Member from North Carolina Tar Heels
Florida State football is making another key addition to its coaching staff under head coach Mike Norvell. After a tough 2-10 season, the Seminoles have been actively reworking their program, with a focus on improving their recruiting efforts and overall operations.
Recently, Maddy McCormack, the Director of Recruiting Operations, moved on after three years with the program. McCormack was a familiar face at FSU’s Moore Athletic Center, playing a vital role in coordinating visits and building relationships with recruits. However, the Seminoles have already found her successor, and the new hire comes from a familiar rival—North Carolina.
On Thursday, FSU announced the hiring of Molly Jacoby as its new Director of Recruiting Operations. Jacoby brings a wealth of experience, having spent the last four years with the North Carolina Tar Heels, including the past nine months as their Director of Recruiting. During her time in Chapel Hill, Jacoby worked under former head coach Mack Brown and current head coach Bill Belichick. She also served as the Director of Recruiting Strategy and Assistant Director of On-Campus Recruiting.

In her role at North Carolina, Jacoby managed all game day recruiting operations and built strong relationships with over 100 prospective student-athletes and their families throughout the season. She was also responsible for organizing on-campus visits and large-scale recruiting events, and played a key role in developing the team’s recruiting strategies.
Jacoby’s responsibilities also extended to internal communications, working with compliance and admissions to help onboard new recruits as they arrived on campus.
Before her time at North Carolina, Jacoby worked as a recruiting analyst for the Georgia Bulldogs from 2017 to 2021. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Georgia, which she earned in 2021.
This marks the second significant hire for Florida State’s recruiting department this offseason. Earlier, the Seminoles brought in Devin Rispress as Director of Recruiting, who joined from Colorado. These moves show Florida State’s commitment to strengthening its recruiting efforts and positioning itself for future success.
