Massive Upset as NC State Football Staff Loses Commit With Star Wolfpack Ties

It appears the NC State football program won’t welcome a second Concepcion to the family, after all.

Arrion Concepcion, a three-star senior wide receiver from Chambers High School in North Carolina and the brother of NC State sophomore wide receiver and reigning ACC Rookie of the Year KC Concepcion, has officially decommitted from the Wolfpack, as first reported by On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Sunday evening.

The 5-foot-9, 175-pound Concepcion had been committed to NC State since June. He is currently ranked No. 1,462 overall, No. 200 among wide receivers, and No. 33 in North Carolina according to the 247Sports 2025 Composite rankings.

It’s uncertain where Arrion Concepcion will pursue his football career next. Prior to his commitment to NC State and head coach Dave Doeren’s staff, he received offers from several programs, including Appalachian State, Campbell, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Liberty, Marshall, Miami, Troy, and Virginia Tech.

His decommitment has caused the 2025 NC State football recruiting class to fall to No. 45 overall in the nation, according to 247Sports Composite. They now rank No. 10 in the ACC, trailing behind Florida State (No. 9), Stanford (No. 8), Pitt (No. 7), Syracuse (No. 6), Duke (No. 5), SMU (No. 4), Georgia Tech (No. 3), Clemson (No. 2), and Miami (No. 1).

Jerel Bolder, a standout athlete from Forest Hills High School in North Carolina and currently the only composite four-star recruit in the Wolfpack’s class of 18, is now the sole wide receiver among the 2025 NC State commitments.
