Georgia Tech has finalized its nonconference schedule for 2026 by securing a home game against Mercer. The Yellow Jackets will welcome the Bears to Bobby Dodd Stadium on September 26, 2026, as confirmed by a contract obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution through an open records request. Georgia Tech has committed to pay Mercer $ 475,000 for the matchup, and Mercer will receive 5,000 tickets to sell, along with 400 complimentary tickets. Currently 9-2 under coach Mike Jacobs, Mercer is a member of the Southern Conference and revived its football program in 2013 after a hiatus since 1941.

Historically, Tech holds a 14-1-1 record against Mercer, with the Bears’ only win occurring in their first matchup in 1892, when they triumphed 12-6. Their most recent meeting in the modern era was in 2016, where Tech won decisively, 35-10. In addition to Mercer, Georgia Tech’s 2026 schedule includes games against Colorado on September 5, Georgia State on September 19, and at Georgia on November 28. The Colorado game is part of a home-and-home series established in 2016, with Tech set to travel to Boulder on August 30, 2025. The upcoming game against Georgia State is also part of a home-and-home agreement from 2019, following Tech’s 35-12 victory in their initial matchup at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
