The Texas Longhorns are gearing up for their last official visit weekend of the regular season as they take on the Kentucky Wildcats this Saturday. The excitement ramped up on Tuesday morning with the announcement that consensus five-star offensive tackle commitment Michael Fasusi from the Oklahoma Sooners will be visiting the Forty Acres.
Other sources quickly confirmed the development.
This will be the first visit to Austin for the 6’5”, 295-pound prospect from Lewisville since he committed to Oklahoma over Missouri, Texas, and Texas A&M in August. Unfortunately for the Sooners, their season has taken a downturn due to injuries at wide receiver, inconsistent quarterback play, and underwhelming performances from the offensive line, leading to the firing of co-offensive coordinator Seth Littrell. Offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh, a mainstay in Norman since Bob Stoops’ tenure started in 2013, is also at risk of losing his job.
Oklahoma’s record stands at 5-5 overall and 1-5 in conference play, putting them at risk of missing a bowl game for the first time since 1998.
As a result, doubts are surfacing regarding Fasusi’s commitment, especially since Texas has maintained communication with the nation’s No. 12 recruit and No. 2 offensive tackle according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
Texas has secured commitments from five offensive linemen in the 2025 recruiting class, but only one, Nick Brooks from Georgia, is a consensus four-star recruit. Position coach Kyle Flood is gearing up to replace three or four starters along the offensive line.
