Wild Push Silvertips to the Edge in 6-5 Season Finale Loss

The Wenatchee Wild closed out their 2025–26 season with a hard-fought effort, nearly mounting a comeback before falling 6-5 to the Everett Silvertips on Saturday night.

Goaltender Carsten Leyerzapf made 54 saves—matching his performance from the previous night—while Zane Saab and Aiden Grossklaus each scored twice to keep Wenatchee competitive. Despite the strong effort, the Wild came up just short at Angel of the Winds Arena, finishing their third WHL season with a 25-38-3-2 record, an improvement from the year before.

Everett took control early, building a 4-0 lead in the first period behind goals from Nolan Chastko, Henri Ament, and two from Hunter Rudolph.

Wenatchee responded quickly in the second period, scoring twice in the opening minutes and adding another goal from Grossklaus to cut the deficit to 4-3. Everett answered with two more goals, including Rudolph’s third of the night and a score from Julius Miettinen, extending the lead to 6-3.

The Wild refused to back down, with Saab netting his second goal early in the third period and Grossklaus adding another in the final seconds, but the rally fell just short.

Rudolph led all scorers with a hat trick, while Jesse Heslop recorded three assists. Chastko contributed a goal and an assist, and Brek Liske added two assists. Everett goaltender Anders Miller made 18 saves to secure the win.

Everett capped off a dominant regular season with a 57-8-3-2 record, tying the WHL single-season wins mark and setting a new record for total standings points.

For Wenatchee, Darian Rolsing registered two assists, while Saab and Grossklaus led the scoring. Josh Toll also reached a milestone, recording his 50th assist of the season and becoming the first defenseman in franchise history to lead the team in scoring.
