Mississippi State in Strong Early Position as 2027 Safety Plans Visits
Mississippi State has gained an early edge in the recruitment of 2027 safety London Goggans, thanks in part to securing his only scheduled official visit so far.
The Grayson standout has more than 20 scholarship offers and has been evaluating programs that have consistently stayed in contact. Among the schools most involved are Mississippi State, NC State, Arkansas, Purdue, and Kansas State. He also made spring visits to Wake Forest and Virginia Tech before the recruiting dead period.
While Goggans plans to expand his visit schedule after attending more spring practices, Mississippi State currently stands alone with an official visit set for June 12–14. Other programs like Purdue, Arkansas, Kansas State, and possibly NC State are expected to receive visits later.
That early June trip to Starkville is a promising sign for the Bulldogs, especially since Goggans has yet to visit campus. A key factor in their strong position is his relationship with safeties coach Kevie Thompson, whom he has known since before Thompson joined the Mississippi State staff.
Goggans said communication with Thompson has been consistent, and the coach has emphasized how well he fits within the program. The upcoming visit will give him a chance to finally see the campus and coaching staff in person.
Despite the growing interest, Goggans is taking a patient approach to his recruitment. He plans to wait until after his official visits before making a decision, keeping his options open while focusing on finding a program where he can contribute early and continue developing his skills.
For Mississippi State, the strategy is clear: get him on campus this spring, make a strong impression during his official visit, and continue building on an already solid relationship.
