Rutgers Center Baye Fall Enters NCAA Transfer Portal
Rutgers big man Baye Fall has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. Fall, a former four-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American, began his college career at Arkansas.
Rated as a four-star in the 2023 class by the Rivals Industry Rankings, Fall was ranked No. 30 overall, the No. 1 recruit from Colorado, and the No. 8 power forward nationally. He initially committed to Eric Musselman at Arkansas but played just nine games before transferring to Kansas State for the 2024-25 season under Jerome Tang, appearing in only four contests.
Fall joined Rutgers this past season but played in just nine games. His season was cut short in January due to a hand injury requiring surgery. Across his collegiate career, Fall has appeared in only 22 games, averaging 1.0 point, 1.5 rebounds, and 0.5 blocks per contest. He will now seek his fourth program in as many seasons.
For Rutgers, this comes after four consecutive seasons without an NCAA Tournament appearance. Head coach Steve Pikiell, in charge since 2016, has achieved four winning seasons and two March Madness appearances. Pikiell returns for 2026 looking to improve on last year’s 14-20 record, but Fall will no longer be part of the team.
The men’s basketball NCAA transfer portal opened on April 7 for 15 days, allowing players to explore new opportunities. Fall is the latest player to enter the portal in search of a fresh start.
