Alabama Adds 2027 Defensive Lineman on A-Day
Alabama Crimson Tide capped off its A-Day festivities with a new addition to its 2027 recruiting class, landing an in-state defensive lineman.

AJ Pauley of McGill-Toolen announced his commitment to Alabama on Saturday, choosing the Crimson Tide over programs like Florida State, Michigan, and Ole Miss, according to On3 Sports. The Mobile, Alabama native is listed at 6-foot-5 and around 265 pounds and is rated as a three-star prospect, ranking among the top players in the state.
Pauley received his Alabama offer last September and has made multiple visits to Tuscaloosa since then. His latest trip came during A-Day weekend, where he ultimately made his decision to join head coach Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide.
Alabama has made the defensive line a clear priority in recent recruiting cycles, signing five players at the position in the 2026 class while also adding depth through the transfer portal. With several upperclassmen expected to depart after next season, Pauley is viewed as an important piece for the program’s future in the trenches.
Alabama’s 2027 Commitments
The Crimson Tide now holds four commitments in the 2027 class:
- Trent Seaborn (4-star quarterback, Thompson, Alabama)
- Colt Lumpris (3-star tight end, Lawrenceville, New Jersey)
- AJ Pauley (3-star defensive lineman, Mobile, Alabama)
- Oakley Keegan (3-star tight end, Liverpool, New York)
The early signing period for the 2027 class is set for December 2, 2026, as Alabama continues to build its next wave of talent.
