FSU Football Lands Official Visit From Offensive Tackle Prospect
Florida State is preparing for an active summer on the recruiting trail. Currently clinging to a spot in the top 25 rankings, the Seminoles have added just one commitment since early February while other programs have gained momentum this spring.
That’s something the coaching staff hopes to change soon, with a wave of official visits approaching. FSU is set to host numerous prospects over the summer, potentially leading to rapid growth in its 2027 recruiting class (#Tribe27).
The offensive line showed solid progress in coach Herb Hand’s first year, but maintaining that trajectory will require continued success in attracting talented recruits.
One encouraging sign: Florida State appears to be gaining traction with an offensive tackle prospect from Georgia.
Three-Star OT Plans Official Visit
After offering three-star offensive tackle Jacob Burns in late March, the Seminoles secured an official visit from the rising prospect. With limited depth at the position on their recruiting board, extending that offer was a key move.
Although Burns didn’t visit campus this spring, he’s now scheduled to be in Tallahassee from June 12–14.
The Georgia native will also visit Georgia Tech before heading to Florida State. He holds additional offers from major programs including Alabama, Arkansas, Ohio State, Georgia, and Tennessee.
Burns, who stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 300 pounds, is ranked No. 661 overall, the No. 59 offensive tackle, and the No. 76 player in Georgia for the 2027 class, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Florida State currently has six verbal commitments in its 2027 class, placing the group at No. 24 nationally.

Offensive Line Outlook for 2026
The Seminoles’ offensive line features a mix of experienced veterans and developing underclassmen heading into the 2026 season. Key contributors include upperclassmen like Nate Pabst, Xavier Chaplin, Andre’ Otto, and Bradyn Joiner, alongside younger players working their way into the rotation.
Overall, while Florida State’s recruiting momentum has been slow this spring, the upcoming slate of visits could play a major role in shaping the future of the program.
