Ole Miss Transfer Target Commits to Kansas State

Chris Beard and the Ole Miss Rebels are in the midst of a pivotal offseason, actively working through the NCAA Transfer Portal to rebuild their roster.

After a significant loss of players from the 2024-25 roster, Ole Miss has been aggressively adding talent through the transfer market. They’ve already secured commitments from several transfers, but with more open roster spots, Beard and his staff are continuing to target additional players.

One player that had been linked to Ole Miss was Memphis Tigers guard PJ Haggerty, a Top-5 prospect in the Transfer Portal. Haggerty, a rising junior from Crosby, Texas, had a varied college journey, starting at TCU, then transferring to Tulsa in 2023, and finally moving to Memphis this past offseason.

During his time at Memphis, Haggerty played in all 35 games, averaging 21.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game in the 2024-25 season. He helped lead Memphis to a 29-6 record, an American Athletic Conference Championship, an AAC Tournament title, and an NCAA Tournament appearance.

After entering the transfer portal, Haggerty initially set a steep asking price of $4 million, but reports indicated that this figure was adjusted as interest from programs like Ole Miss, North Carolina State, Kansas State, and others began to materialize.

In the end, Haggerty has chosen Kansas State for the 2025-26 season, committing to the Wildcats on Monday.

As for Ole Miss, they’ve secured seven commitments from the Transfer Portal this offseason, with a number of new faces set to join the team in Oxford.

The Rebels continue to strengthen their roster, with the focus now on the upcoming season and integrating their new additions.
