Tennessee Volunteers Gets Another Massive NFL Draft Update

Tennessee Vols football wide receiver Chris Brazzell II gets selected in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Tennessee Volunteers football were expected to have several players selected in the first round, but that didn’t happen. Instead, multiple Vols are projected to come off the board on Day 2 of the draft. One of those players was wide receiver Chris Brazzell II, who heard his name called in the second round.

Brazzell II, considered one of the more physically gifted receivers in the NFL Draft, was taken with the No. 83 overall pick by the Carolina Panthers. The selection could prove significant, as he has a strong chance to step in and contribute right away.

With his blend of size and speed, Brazzell II brings intriguing upside. Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing around 200 pounds, he also posted an impressive 4.37-second 40-yard dash, showcasing elite athleticism that could translate quickly to the next level.

Here’s what Lance Zierlein had to say about the former Tennessee wideout:

More About Chris Brazzell II

“Brazzell is a long, rangy ‘Z’ receiver who can generate big plays downfield for an offense looking to stretch the field. His 2025 film shows improved comfort and awareness, with his production beginning to match his physical tools. He accelerates smoothly with long strides and excels at winning above the rim. His length and body control allow him to create separation in the air against defenders.

He’s also a more polished route runner than many deep-threat receivers, though he still needs to add strength and physicality when dealing with contested catches underneath. He wasn’t challenged often with tight press coverage last season, but that’s something he’ll likely face early in his pro career. While two-high safety looks and zone schemes can limit his involvement on a play-to-play basis, his ability to strike quickly for explosive gains is undeniable,” Lance Zierlein said.
