Huskies Secure Another Promising Tight End With Latest Commitment
Glacier Peak High School standout Zach Albright announced his decision Monday night, choosing to stay in-state and commit to the University of Washington.
While Washington has occasionally seen top football prospects leave the region—like offensive lineman Ioane Vega, who moved from Graham-Kapowsin to Penn State—its elite tight end pipeline has remained firmly tied to Montlake. Players such as Cade Otton, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, and Drew Sample have all followed that path from UW to the NFL, and more recent names like Jack Westover, Devin Culp, and Hunter Bryant have continued the tradition.
Now, Albright—an athletic 6-foot-5, 235-pound tight end from Snohomish, Washington—joins that lineage. He chose the Huskies over programs including Michigan, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, becoming Washington’s 12th commitment in the class and its fifth on offense.
A first-team 4A All-State selection and three-star recruit, Albright is also one of the most versatile athletes in the class. He has been a key contributor in basketball at Glacier Peak, helping lead teams to multiple strong seasons, including a sixth-place state finish, and he has earned All-Wesco honors. In track and field, he competes in the high jump and long jump, posting marks of 20 feet, 4 inches and 6 feet, 4 inches respectively.
On the football field, Albright has steadily produced in a balanced offense. As a junior, he recorded 18 receptions for 206 yards and five touchdowns while helping Glacier Peak reach the state quarterfinals. As a sophomore, he posted 29 catches for 403 yards and eight touchdowns and even contributed as a punter.
Washington first offered him a scholarship in March 2025 after an impressive visit to campus, and tight ends coach Jordan Paopao has remained closely involved in his recruitment. Albright has already attended a UW game, participated in Junior Day, and is scheduled for an official visit in June.
His commitment adds to a growing in-state presence in Washington’s 2027 recruiting class, joining players like Braylon Pope and Maurice Williams as the Huskies continue to strengthen their local recruiting footprint.
