Missouri Secures Commitment From Linebacker Kobe Rhymes
Missouri football has added another key piece to its 2027 recruiting class with the commitment of in-state linebacker Kobe Rhymes from Kansas City, Missouri.
A three-star prospect, Rhymes selected the Tigers over several major programs, including Miami Hurricanes football, Alabama Crimson Tide football, and Ohio State Buckeyes football. His commitment came shortly after an official visit to Missouri this past weekend.
Rhymes becomes the 11th pledge in Missouri’s 2027 recruiting class and the second linebacker in the group, joining fellow three-star recruit Keiran Govan from Republic, Missouri. Five of Missouri’s current commitments in the class come from within the state.
Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 220 pounds, Rhymes possesses the physical profile coaches look for in a middle linebacker. He has been a standout defender for North Kansas City High School, where he earned first-team all-conference honors in 2024 after posting 48 solo tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception, and three pass breakups in conference play.
His athleticism extends beyond defense. Rhymes has also excelled at running back, earning first-team all-conference recognition in 2025 after rushing for 618 yards and scoring nine total touchdowns on just 50 carries.
Rhymes was among several notable recruits connected to Missouri over the weekend. The visitor group also featured four-star offensive lineman Kyler Kuhn and four-star cornerback Evan Via, both of whom remain important targets for the Tigers.
