Titans projected to target edge rusher in early 2027 NFL mock draft
The Tennessee Titans made significant strides in rebuilding their defense this offseason, but the unit could still use additional depth and impact players. Although the team strengthened its defensive line, adding another explosive edge rusher may be a priority in the 2027 offseason.
Ryan Moran of Yahoo Sports shares that outlook, projecting the Titans to select South Carolina standout Dylan Stewart in his way-too-early 2027 NFL mock draft.
Stewart is viewed as one of the top prospects in the 2027 class thanks to his rare athleticism and movement skills for a 6-foot-5 defender. He has the tools to develop into one of the draft’s premier pass rushers.
During his first two seasons with the Gamecocks, Stewart recorded 11 sacks while forcing six fumbles, showcasing his ability to create game-changing plays. If his sack production increases as expected during his junior campaign, his draft stock could soar even higher.
Tennessee’s long-term need at edge rusher makes the fit logical. Jermaine Johnson is entering the final year of his contract, while Femi Oladejo has yet to establish himself as a dependable contributor. After passing on a speed rusher in the 2026 NFL Draft to select wide receiver Carnell Tate, the Titans may look to address that need in 2027.
Although Tennessee added Keldric Faulk later in the first round of the 2026 draft, he projects more as a power defensive end in Robert Saleh’s scheme. Stewart would offer the explosive first step and speed off the edge that the Titans currently lack.
