However, she revealed on Friday morning that the upcoming season at UConn is probably her final one. Bueckers actually has two NCAA eligibility remaining. She obtained a medical redshirt after tearing her ACL and sitting out the 2022-23 season, and she also has an extra year of eligibility due to the disruptions caused by COVID-19. As a result, she could compete for UConn until 2026 if she chose to do so.
Although Bueckers didn’t explicitly confirm that the 2024-25 season would be her final one with Geno Auriemma and UConn, today’s announcement indicates that she is aiming to join the WNBA sooner rather than later.
