Tennessee has already begun building toward its 2028 football recruiting class, and the Volunteers recently extended an offer to four-star wide receiver Tristan Thomas.
“Blessed to receive an offer from the University of Tennessee,” Thomas announced after receiving the opportunity.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound receiver attends Calvert High School in Prince Frederick, Maryland. According to 247Sports, Thomas is ranked as the No. 12 athlete nationally in the 2028 class and the No. 10 overall prospect in Maryland.
Maryland was the first program to offer Thomas a scholarship, doing so on March 10. Since then, he has picked up offers from a long list of Power Four programs, including Virginia Tech, Florida, Stanford, UConn, Duke, Michigan State, Oregon, Iowa State, Wake Forest, SMU, West Virginia, Penn State, UCLA, Indiana and Rutgers.
Tennessee currently does not have any commitments in its 2028 recruiting class.
The Volunteers, however, have already built a sizable 2027 class with 19 commitments. That group includes linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, wide receiver KeSean Bowman, defensive backs Carter Jamison and Brandon Leavell, tight end Malik Howard, defensive lineman Christian Mays, cornerback Dylan Haley, linebacker Kenneth Simon II, kicker Ford Fehling, long snapper Sam McKeown, offensive tackle Q’Mari Hudson, athlete Dayon Cooper, safety Marcus Jones, offensive tackle Niko Kampas, and running backs David Gabriel Georges and Asa Barnes.
