Monster Move for Pitt Panther Men’s Basketball

The Pitt Panther men’s basketball team is set to host a top player from the Class of 2026 for an official visit.

According to Sam Kayser from @LeagueRDY, 4-star point guard Neiko Mundey has planned to visit Pitt at the end of August.

Mundey, a 6′-3″ guard from Shabach Christian High School in Landover, Maryland, is recognized as one of the Top 100 players in the Class of 2026. 247 Sports ranks him even higher as a Top 50 prospect and the No. 2 overall player in Maryland.

So far in his recruitment, Mundey has received offers from several schools, including Pitt, Florida State, Illinois, Louisville, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Syracuse, South Florida, Texas Tech, Villanova, Wake Forest, and West Virginia.

Kayser reports that Mundey’s official visit to Pitt is scheduled for the weekend of August 30th. Following that, he will visit Mississippi State on September 6th and Oklahoma State on September 28th.

Recently, Pitt head coach Jeff Capel attended the DMV Hoops Live event to see Mundey play in person.

Kayser characterizes Mundey as “an athletic guard with impressive speed and explosiveness. He stands out with the ball and is capable of scoring from anywhere on the court.”

The Pitt coaching staff officially offered Mundey on May 19th.

Pitt aims to secure their first commitment for the Class of 2026.
