Giants Land Cornerback After Injury Concerns Hit Secondary

Giants Reportedly Bringing in Cornerback Jaden Robinson

The New York Giants are reportedly set to add cornerback Jaden Robinson to their practice squad, according to Aaron Wilson.

Robinson, who worked out with the Giants last week, is 6-foot-0 and weighs 183 pounds. He originally joined the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon State following the 2025 NFL Draft.

While Robinson did not earn a spot on Denver’s 53-man roster after training camp, he was added to the Broncos’ practice squad. At the time, his position coach was Addison Lynch, who is now the Giants’ defensive backs coach.

Robinson was most recently with Denver during this summer’s training camp before being waived with an injury designation on August 7.

New York’s practice squad is currently at its 16-player limit, in addition to an exemption for offensive tackle Jarrod Gray through the International Pathway Program.

The Giants brought wide receiver Dalen Cambre back to the practice squad Wednesday after promoting defensive tackle Josh Tupou to the active roster. As a result, the team will need to make another move to create room for Robinson before his signing can officially be completed Thursday.

What Robinson’s Addition Could Mean

The move comes as the Giants deal with some uncertainty in their cornerback room following Sunday night’s season opener against Dallas.

Starting cornerbacks Deonte Banks and Greg Newsome II both dealt with issues during the game.

Banks reportedly experienced cramping, and during Wednesday’s walkthrough, he was seen wearing a sleeve on his right lower leg. Newsome briefly left the game to undergo evaluation for a potential head injury but was ultimately cleared to return.

Paulson Adebo, who entered the game after Newsome left, also missed Wednesday’s practice during the portion open to the media. It remains unclear whether Adebo is dealing with an injury and, if so, whether it could impact his availability for Monday night’s Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Giants are scheduled to release their first official injury report Thursday following practice, in accordance with the league’s schedule for teams playing on Monday night.
