Hurricanes Continue Restocking In Free Agency By Signing Highly Rated Superstar To a Deal Worth $2.8 million.

The Carolina Hurricanes continued to bolster their roster through free agency on Thursday by agreeing to a one-year contract worth $2.8 million with forward Jack Roslovic.

Roslovic becomes the sixth NHL player added by the Hurricanes this week, following the appointment of new general manager Eric Tulsky to succeed Don Waddell. The 27-year-old concluded the previous season with the New York Rangers, amassing 234 points in 481 regular-season and playoff games across stints with New York, Winnipeg, and Columbus.

“Jack is a dynamic player who has consistently contributed offensively throughout his career,” stated Tulsky. “The addition of another right-handed playmaker with the ability to bring speed and skill to the lineup will enhance our forward group.”

In their bid to secure a seventh consecutive playoff appearance under coach Rod Brind’Amour, Carolina also secured the services of forwards William Carrier, Tyson Jost, and Eric Robinson, as well as defensemen Sean Walker and Shayne Gostisbehere.

The upcoming season poses a fresh set of challenges for Carolina following the departure of several key players in free agency, including Jake Guentzel to Tampa Bay, Teuvo Teravainen to Chicago, Brett Pesce and Stefan Noesen to New Jersey, and Brady Skjei to Nashville.

Uncertainty lingers around the future of restricted free agent Martin Necas, whose father has expressed his desire for a trade to seek a more prominent role elsewhere. Necas, 25, was among the team’s top scorers last season.

Out in the Western Conference, the San Jose Sharks secured two-year contracts for the recently acquired RFA forwards.
