Just In: Oregon Makes The Top Three For Electrifying Five-Star DB With a Blockbuster Resume
Five-star and No. 3 cornerback DJ Pickett released his top three ahead of his July 17th commitment on Sunday with the Ducks in the mix.
In the last month, Oregon’s recruiting efforts have reached new heights. Since the start of June, the Ducks have secured commitments from eight players, reaching a peak last week with the addition of five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore, who is ranked as the top wide receiver in the nation and is the highest-rated recruit ever to commit to the Ducks.
Now, just a few days later, Oregon is set to maintain its strong recruiting momentum as they have been included in the top three choices of five-star DJ Pickett, alongside LSU and Miami. Pickett, ranked as the No. 9 player in the nation by the Top247, is one of the most highly-rated remaining cornerbacks available in the market.
Pickett revealed his top three preferences via social media on Sunday morning.

Pickett ranks as the third best cornerback in the nation, following behind Devin Sanchez and Na’eem Offord, who have both committed to Ohio State. At the end of June, Oregon successfully secured the commitment of five-star cornerback Dorian Brew, winning out over Texas and Ohio State in the pursuit of this talented defensive back.
Standing at 6-foot-4, 178 pounds, Pickett possesses a composite score of .9971, which would position him as the highest-rated defensive back prospect to choose Oregon. During his official visits, Pickett toured Oregon on June 21, making it the final stop on his list, which also included LSU, Miami, and Georgia.

While his exact size and weight haven’t been recently confirmed, his long reach is evident on film. He recorded four interceptions as a sophomore and returned one for a touchdown in his junior season. Pickett isn’t afraid to deliver big hits when the opportunity arises. His quick burst allows him to cover ground rapidly, and he takes efficient angles in run support. With his long arms, he can match up against larger tight ends and wide receivers.
He’s willing to battle through contact but needs to improve his tackling in open-field situations and may benefit from adding more muscle in the future. His potential impact at the Power Five level is notable due to his range and ability to create turnovers while concealing mistakes. His multi-sport background and success in track and field add to his promising profile. Although most schools view him as a defensive player, he might also receive consideration as a wide receiver.”
Pickett is set to reveal his decision on July 17th.
